💡 Tax Savings Reminder

Set aside 25–30% of net profit for income tax. Transfer to a separate savings account monthly.

  • Track all business expenses with receipts
  • Home studio deduction: calculate percentage of home used for business
  • Consider quarterly tax installments if income exceeds $30,000/year
  • Consult an accountant for first-year tax filing
Nail Aftercare Guide
Keeping your klaws healthy and beautiful between appointments

The First 24 Hours

  • 🚫 Keep nails completely dry for the first 24 hours after service.
  • ♨️ Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming.
  • 🧴 Do not use hand sanitizer directly on nails (it can cause lifting).
  • ⌨️ Avoid typing excessively or using nails as tools.

Daily Care Routine

Morning

  • Apply cuticle oil to each nail and gently massage in (jojoba oil recommended).
  • Push back cuticles gently with a soft cuticle pusher — never cut them.
  • Apply hand cream, working it around the nail bed.

Throughout the Day

  • Wear gloves when doing dishes, cleaning, or using any chemicals.
  • Use the pads of your fingers, not your nails, to open cans, peel stickers, or scratch surfaces.
  • Apply cuticle oil after every hand wash if possible.

Evening

  • Reapply cuticle oil before bed.
  • If any lifting is noticed, do NOT pick at it — book a repair appointment.

What to Avoid

  • ❌ Picking, peeling, or biting your extensions — this damages the natural nail underneath.
  • ❌ Using acetone-based nail polish remover near your extensions.
  • ❌ Filing your own extensions at home.
  • ❌ Exposing nails to harsh chemicals (bleach, acetone, strong cleaning products) without gloves.
  • ❌ Using your nails as tools (opening cans, peeling labels, scratching).
  • ❌ Excessive heat exposure (hot tubs, saunas) for prolonged periods.

Signs You Need to Book a Repair

Contact Kaela's Klaws immediately if you notice any of the following:

  • Any lifting at the cuticle or sidewalls
  • A nail has cracked, broken, or snapped
  • Discolouration under the extension (green or yellow — could indicate moisture trapped underneath)
  • Pain, swelling, or redness around the nail bed
  • An extension has completely detached
✅ Complimentary repairs are available for any nail that breaks or lifts prematurely due to the service. Book within 48 hours of noticing the issue.

Your Fill Schedule

To maintain the health of your natural nails and the look of your extensions:

  • Book a fill every 3–4 weeks.
  • Do not go longer than 5 weeks without a fill — overgrown extensions can cause lifting and damage.
  • If you need to remove your extensions, always book a professional soak-off — never peel them off yourself.

Waitlist Tips

Managing Your Waitlist

  • Set priority to 1 for clients who need ASAP service
  • Contact waitlisted clients when a slot opens
  • Move to "Booked" status once they confirm
  • Mark as "Expired" if no response in 48 hours

Capacity Planning

  • If waitlist consistently has 5+ people, consider extending hours
  • Track which services are most in demand
  • Use waitlist data to justify price increases
  • Seasonal spikes: back-to-school, holidays, wedding season
